Why would ABI do cross-town streetcars? Don't they have enough to do?

What?!? If this is true this is huge and out of no where. I have been googling and have not been able to find any more details on it yet. Who is granting this money? It is a fairly major project to get funded out of no where.

Ah, OK. It is just the initial planning and environmental analysis. I thought they were saying it was fully funded.

This is a northward extension of the downtown street car and their are plans to extend it up Peachtree into Buckhead eventually. But I think beyond that I would not get your hopes up as the suburbs usually shoot down these things.

Northside is not as dense as Midtown, along North Ave and/or 10th street, with the exception of Peachtree Road from Piedmont to Phipps Plaza. This project is the Midtown Connector for the future BeltLine transit and was included in the TSPLOST.
