Looks like that area is really coming up. It's been awhile since I've been there.

For those who love around there, how annoying is the noise from the airport?

It's actually not that bad on Dresden. I went with some friends when they were looking at houses in the area and they looked at one on the far east side of Ashford Park. Now there, you could REALLY hear the airport. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to pay $500k for a house on a runway. Ashford Park is really the only area in Brookhaven to me that I can noticeably hear the airport.

Now, I have some friends that live off Briarcliff at Clairmont and when I'm in their pool I feel like I'm swimming on a runway.

"it's just the middle and high schools have real struggles."

This is not accurate.

I am a parent in Brookhaven, we are in the Chamblee middle and high school district. Chamblee high was just ranked 5th best public high school in Georgia, and they are a Charter school. Not private, they are a conversion Charter and have been since 2001. If you are in the district, your kids attend - and they accept out of district applicants to fill excess capacity. The excess spots are filled by lottery.

I am curious. Do your children attend CMS and/or CCHS yet? If so, are they in the magnet program?

My experience and the experience of my Chamblee friends is that there is a tremendous difference between the magnet program and the rest of the school.

This may well change as the elementary schools grow in popularity (ie APS). Right now, you see an awful lot of cars with Montgomery and Marist stickers.
