How long is the rush hour commute from Alpharetta to downtown? Both by driving and taking Marta. Is it better than the East Cobb commute or same?

since the marta train doesn't run all the way up to alpharetta, you'll have to get off at north springs. it's probably going to be an hour, minimum, either way. the east cobb commute might be a little better, but not by much.

Depending on where you are in alpharetta you could use a bus/express bus to get to North Springs Station. I beleive there is an express bus that runs from the mansell rd. park/ride straight to North Springs.

Go to www.itsmarta.com and use their commute calculator. Definatly use the schedule, the intervals for North Fulton busses are long but I have found them to be quite on-time. Give the bus +/- 5 minutes from the schedule.

That is not a fun commute. You will have multiple slow spots to go through.
1. Onramp to GA-400
2. 285/400 interchange slow down
3. GA 400 Tollbooth (peach card helps a lot)
4. GA400S/85S merge
5. 85S/75S downtown connector merge
6.downtown connector exit ramp (don't know which exit would work best for your destination)

Alpharetta is not ideal for a commute that far into town... neither is East Cobb if you are anywhere north of Circle 75 pkwy.
