The interchange needs to be improved certainly, but to accommodate current traffic flow generated by the existing highway, not on the assumption that driving is the only way of traveling. MARTA is still proceeding forward looking at transit up 400 (probably [hopefully] just an extension of the Red line). If there is fast, reliable transit as far as Windward, you'd only need to build to accommodate current traffic levels, future growth could be handled by the rail system.

I have seen it and I avoid it. I'm just applying the knowledge I gained from the TSPLOST episode. Why should I should I be forced to spend my hard earned tax dollars on some project which does nothing to further my goals and doesn't save one picosecond off my commute?

So Lets Be Optimistic Here for Just a Second and Say that this Terminal Does Open in 2017 On time and on Or Under Budget....Do Yo think GDOT Will Have Commuter Rail Service In Place?? And If So What Destinations Shoould be Served First?? I think. The Athens and Acworth Lines Should Run First...Have a Robust Schedule of about 8-10 trains During Rush Hours Every 20 or 30 Minutes And The Rest of the Metro area Will Clammor for there Own Lines or the Proposed Lines...But.Even at 20 Trains for those Two Lines Alone is alot of Volume and were talkin about an eventual system spanning some 425 Miles in all directions...I hope The planned capacity for the
Rail Terminal Will be Enough! And not to mention Amtrak and Future Intercity Services...

It's hard to understand why we should spend yet another $500 million on a freeway intersection that just gets bigger and bigger yet constantly more congested.
I am the biggest transit cheerleader, but I can see the worth of remodeling this interchange.

The worst thing Atlanta ever did was to tear up its massive streetcar system in the mid 1900's!

They were unsustainable. It was a time of suburbanization, interstate highways, and more car ownership.

I just dont like the name "mmpt" hopefully they change it to something nice like "Union station" or "ATL Central Station " etc.
This is the South...no way do we call it Union station.

It should be called Grand Five Points Station.
