Where in Cobb? Where in Buckhead? It could be five minutes or an hour.

Haven't moved to Cobb yet so trying to figure best commutes. Bulkhead is across from Lenox mall.

Smyrna will be your best commute from Cobb to Buckhead.

Depending on where in Cobb and Buckhead, if traffic got really bad for you, you could use an Xpress bus or a Cobb County Transit express route to Arts Center, or another MARTA station, then take a MARTA train to Buckhead or Lenox (without knowing your specifics, across from Lenox mall could be closer to either the gold line Lenox, or Red Line Buckhead rail stations).

Buckhead offices are well served by MARTA, if it ever came to you using transit.

I work at 950 east paces ferry road. I doubt I will do transit since I will be taking my son to school.

Here is the route that I typically take to Lenox Square which is where you will be working near:

From Vinings/Smyrna:

South on Cobb Parkway SE become Northside Parkway NW
Left on Mt Paran Road NW
Right on W Conway Drive NW
Right on Broadland Road NW
Right on Northside Drive NW
Left on Blackland Road NW (at the stop sign at Tuxedo Road you will stay left on Blackland and then it will split to the right - don't go left or you will be on Putnam).
Crossover Roswell Road NE and Blackland becomes Piedmont Road NE
Left on Lenox Road NE
Crossover Peachtree Road NE
Left on East Paces Ferry Road

Sounds crazy but this is a long existing well known route for many that have lived here. You will realize there are other cars following the same route. It gets confusing to learn the route in reverse. When I first moved here I used to get lost coming home all the time (pre GPS days).

The only real traffic is when you get on Piedmont Road and making the Buckhead Loop. There are many many variations to this route depending on how far north or south you need to get in Buckhead.

I believe one of the first questions about "Where in Cobb?" is because Cobb County can be anywhere from Vinings to Powder Springs to Acworth to East Cobb, or anywhere in between. The proper commute route cannot be determined unless you know the starting point, and the commute times will vary depending on where you live in Cobb County.
