Now, I'm confused. All this time, I thought PCM was the place where Whole Foods was located. Ok, where is PCM?

It's the old City Hall East on Ponce. The largest brick building in the southeast. Read up on it, it is quite possibly the most important development in Atlanta at the moment. I think we will have the largest food hall in the country when it is complete.

You probably got confused because Whole Food is off Ponce De Leon, but Ponce City Market is being developed across from Whole Foods current location at Midtown Place. A worker told me that its the busiest smaller store in Atlanta producing twice as much money than other stores its size.

its on the line of Midtown, O4W, Poncey-Highland, and Virginia-Highlands. I can see why this store is so busy, the parking lot is always packed.
There needs to be a path from the Eastside Trail to Midtown Place.

People who are wanting Apple and Whole Foods at PCM obviously are missing mark at what the developer is trying to achieve. Guess that is just my interpretation though.

Yeah. Those same people would rather have a McDonalds, Burger King, and Applebees at PCM

I totally understand what the developer is trying to achieve, being that I've frequented the Chelsea Market dozens of times. Actually there is a "real" Apple Store adjacent to the Chelsea Market (corner of 14th and 9th), not the tiny mall "the gap" size Apple Stores we have down here in Atlanta (Lenox, Perimeter, etc.). So I get it. Do you?

Here we go again with the New Yorkers beating their chests. Was the bold part even necessary?

Golfer is right though. They are talking about having flower shops, butchers and cheese mongers rather than large food stores like Whole Foods. That's why I said Apple shouldn't be there. That's why the Apple store is adjacent to Chelsea Market, not in it. Here is their retail and restaurants. Pcm will most likely not have anything at all like Apple or Whole Foods. chelseamarket

Ponce City Market's retail space is roughly double the size of the Chelsea Market. There has to be a balance between the number of small businesses and the number of national and regional chains. I think recruiting a handful of national chains would not only provide healthy competition for local businesses, but would even attract customers for them as well. People want Apple to commit to the project because it is a guaranteed draw. Boutiques in particular would blend in well with the local butcher shops and the like. Big-box stores like Whole Foods, on the other hand, have no place in Ponce City Market.

I have no doubt that Jamestown Properties knows what they are doing. They've made a successful development out of White Provisions, and they will do the same for Ponce.
