And 94% of the kids who graduated borrowed? WOW!!!!!

Is Clark just THAT expensive, or does it draw low income kids?

I would think it's the former, because if you know you have to borrow to go to school, you're much better off at a public school over a private one. But I know nothing about admissions at Clark. Will they accept students who can't get into UGA or Georgia State, or is it competitive?

Why is this the case? Is it possible the other schools are providing more financial aid?

1. A private school.
2. Less higher income students--mostly upper-middle/middle/lower-middle/lower income.
3. Reveals the true disparity in our nation--the wealth gap.
4. Less financial aid given by the school.

Why are they attending a private school?

It looks like Clark is a pretty expensive place to go to school. If I didn't have much money I might opt to go some place a little less pricey.

In any case, they apparently do have a good financial aid program.

I think that is a legitimate question. When I was coming along private school was out of the question. Same with our own kids -- we simply didn't have that kind of loot.

However, the public education system turned out to be pretty good.

I can't find much information about Clark's admission standards.

Is it like one of those private law or medical schools that you go to if you couldn't get into any top tier programs? Like one of those places where so long as you aren't a complete idiot and are willing to pay the tuition you are in?

I don't know, just the most logical scenario from this data is kids borrowed money to go there because they couldn't get in anywhere more reasonable in price. Just a guess.

I don't think so...I'm pretty sure there are plenty of public schools with similar or lower admission standards. Maybe it's just due to a desire to attend Clark-Atlanta?
