i don't know, if you look at the wikipedia article for 'edge city' it seems to meet all the requirements.

I agree. It's a suburb/edge city, but not a bedroom community.

About 15 years ago Wal-Mart rolled out their Neighborhood Market concept in select suburban areas (DFW comes to mind). In that iteration they were all new construction and while all of them I am aware of are still in business, Wal-Mart didn't build more of them like they did with their Super Centers. It appears that Wal-Mart has resurrected the Neighborhood Market concept but as a way to capitalize off of cheap unused properties. While I personally not a fan of Wal-Mart's grocery selection, I'm glad to see someone making use of buildings that would otherwise sit vacant.

Some of the Krogers in Alpharetta use to 24x7 or 24x5 or 6 (not sure) but they have gone to cloesing @ 10p-1a at the latest.

One or two walmart supercenter use to be 24x7 but they also have gone to 10p'ish closing, There are a few 24x? around but not to many.

It's hard to understand why they wouldn't try to put a Neighborhood Market at Lindbergh and fit in as part of general TOD development in the area, instead of trying to turn the whole area topsy-turvy with a standard suburban Superstore.

That area is already crawling with grocery stores (there's one only 300 fee away). Not to mention every other kind of retail on the planet.
