FWIW, The better (newer, safer) rental complexes are mostly in Buckhead or Midtown
Lots of new, safe apartments in Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward that line the BeltLine's Eastside Trail.

Which buildings? I looked all over there. Many of the newer buildings are already kind of seedy. Block Lofts and AMLI in particular are already gross.

As someone who looked at 18 buildings from Inman over to Decatur earlier this year, I stand by my recommendation that the sort of buildings the OP is looking for don't exist in and or around Decatur. If they do exist, they are condo buildings and only a small % are available for rental, if the owner wants to rent it out. The "luxury" rental buildings are mostly in Buckhead and Midtown.

Hell to be honest I just did a search on apartments. I'm not the one looking, I'll just being lazy.

The ones in Inman Park are nice looking, along Highland Ave.

The newer buildings along Highland are nice looking on the outside, but expensive, and are trending towards adult party dorms, just like the ones in O4W. The better one is actually Highland Court which looks older, but it never has vacancies.

Thank you for all the suggestions... Sounds like we will go west from Decatur and see what we find between there and Midtown.

From the pictures online, we love the condos in downtown Decatur, but we need to rent two units in the same building, so that is next to impossible in a condo.

Thanks!
