I honestly don't think things will settle down again until the baby boomers die out. I think there is still a very deep division and even hatred between those that got sent to Vietnam and those that managed to avoid it for whatever reason. I mean, look at how those old vets still go after "Hanoi Jane" like it was yesterday. Now don't take that to mean I think all Vietnam era vets are nutcases, but there is A LOT of bitterness still hanging around about it and the left hasn't been able to shake the hippie/draft dodging label. Look at what happened to Kerry and Max Cleland. It has gotten to the point where they don't even respect their own kind.

Add to all that a black president named "Barack Obama" and a terrible economy and overall global economic shift that has been absolutely brutal to rural and small town working class men(particularly white men since they make up the majority of rural working class men). I don't really understand the intense hatred but an adverse reaction does not surprise me. I can't really feel that sorry for them though for screaming at the wrong people while the world changed around them and they did nothing about it. There are reasons I no longer live in the rural area I grew up in and a big one is that I noticed things were changing and the folks who never left turned into the sort of guys I'm talking about. They're screwed but in a lot of ways its their own damn fault.

And the folks screaming about people on welfare are usually the ones drawing multiple government checks. I'm a vet and I shake my head when I see other vets and military members scream about socialism and government handouts. A lot of these guys are drawing disability as well when they seem perfectly fine so what gives them the gall to assume people on welfare are simply gaming the system. Too much talk radio I suppose.

Seems to me an American who makes money in the US ought to be paying taxes on it in America like the rest of us poor slobs.

As for blaming the TP, well they're the ones who were showing up at town hall meetings with assault rifles. And that was three years ago. Frankly nothing frightens me more than a bunch of folk with assault rifles talking about "taking their country back." They introduced this violent rhetoric long before anyone else. For the first time in my life I truly fear another civil war.
After listening to Rickey Smily, Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner & Frank Ski this week Many black people are voting for Obama because they don't like whites, I wish there were more black conservatives & republicans so this type of crap would stop. Oh well. I voted for Obama, but I also listened closely to what Romney had to say to see how his ideas would effect ME, I think Obama beat Romney in the debates. If romney was black & Obama was white my vote would still go to Obama just off the strength of the debates. To say many blacks. Choose sides based on race is dumb because when a black person questions Obama, the black community turns on them

Can't comment on any of those people and what they may or may not have said. I don't actually know who Frank Ski is, and the only talking I listen to on the radio is on npr. I can speak for my friends, of which I have many. They range in ethnicities, but most are black. I've never heard any of the hundreds of people I know even hint at voting for any candidate based on race. From where I sit, it seems to me that black folk, like most Americans vote their pocketbook. My friends who are well to do Democrats mainly choose Obama based on social issues. I know quite a lot of black conservatives or at least moderates. They frequently vote Republican on the state level (not in the south) but are majorly turned off by Republicans socialmagenda.

I'm quite sure that if you get your "black people" news by listening to four celebrities, you probably have no idea what the f**k you're talking about

University Of Mississippi Students Riot Over Obama Victory

"Shortly after midnight, angry students gathered outside the campus for a protest, which reportedly turned violent, with students throwing rocks, using racial slurs and burning Obama's campaign signs..."

All Im saying is there needs to be some diversity in the parties. having or assuming ALL Black people are for libs and Dems is dangerous, not saying you do but but Blacks and Whites do. They all assume every black person in america is Lib or Dem...thats stupid.
