If I was concerned about crime I'd just get me some security windows and doors, a fence with an automatic gate, a couple of good stout dogs, a little Mossberg 500 and a Glock 19, an inexpensive video system, a burglar alarm, some motion sensor lighting and join the neighborhood watch and get to know my local police. While you can never guarantee anything you can easily harden yourself as a target.

That's stupid. People want to live a quality life. We shouldn't NEED to freaking set up a fortress at home. What you suggest is great for someone moving from Compton to East Point.

College Park/East Point is a joke. I hate it for ruining Atlanta's name.

I'm just talking about some common sense precautions. None of them other than the windows and doors would cost that much.

unless they're manufacturing drugs or something, most people don't go to that kind of trouble. in most neighbourhoods, downtown east point and college park included, it's simply not necessary. a couple of deadbolts and an ADT sign in the yard will stop most burglars, and if you still don't feel safe enough, get ADT to actually install an alarm in the house. if you've got criminals that are more dedicated than that, it's doubtful anything you put up would stop them.

this only goes for relatively safe neighbourhoods. there are some places where they'll get three or four strong men, a pickup truck, an electrician's toolkit and remove the central air conditioning unit from your house while you're eating dinner (yes, this happened to someone about a year ago). in that kind of case, there's really not much you can do.

College Park is crazy mf, yall talking bout these good parts. Even Chicago has good parts. But the areas around clayton and riverdale, east point, camp creek etc is fr deal ghetto and run down. Alot of stores and restarants out of business. Two of my bestfriends and my cousin got shot there. This old lady that lived near me over there got robbed and beat in the middle of the night man. Alot of abandoned houses and people be moving contraband through it. Alot of drugs that get shipped to new york pass through these abandoned homes.

And there are parts of Cobb and Gwinnett where some of this happens, so what's your point? There are good and bad parts of any area. I live in College Park and my neighborhood is nothing like that. My neighborhood in Clayton was nothing like that.

This thread has been so many things. Most of them ignorant and non-factual.
