The Atlanta City Council voted 11-2 on Tuesday to formally endorse gay marriage, reports WABE.
The resolution was sponsored by Alex Wan, the council's only openly gay member, the station reports.
The measure carries no legal weight, but is an important symbolic statement, Wan told the Georgia Voice newspaper.

I have no problem with it either. It would be nice if gay marriage was approved in GA but I know that will never happen in our lifetime with these backwards citizens here.

I don't get why gay marriage is such an issue but that discussion is for the Political forum.

If straight men have to risk getting taken to the cleaners in a divorce gays should have that fear also. They are dumb imo wanting gay marrage legal. They had it good prior. They could cheat, leave, etc without any consequences. Now they have to worry about alimony, their 401k being taken in a divorce, etc. You had it good now u have f'ed up
