Hello i'm considering moving to a suburb of ATL since the schools are better roswell, alpharetta, marietta etc just to name a few. I want a friendly open minded place that isn't stuck up and judge mental. We are religious we are christians so we don't mind being in the bible belt. We need a walmart close by cause that's how some of our income is coming in. I don't wanna be far from ATL because i'm a city person and i would like to go out and explore. We want a family place but also a place for young adults. How is GA employment? Is it expensive for the activities that atlanta offers? I don't want to be more than 30min from ATL because we have to travel there every friday. I want to be in a place that isn't racially segregated and where racism isn't a problem. There must be good schools preferably a greatschool rating of 8-10 maybe 7 will do and it would be nice if they have programs that teach you some of the college careers to prepare you for what you want to do once you do go to college. Would like a school demographic wise to be like %55 white 25 asian 20% african-american (example doesn't have to be exactly the same). Thanks again if i left something off please ask.

I am sorry but I find your poll just ridiculous

Atlanta Metro has a population of 5.5 million people. This is not a homogeneous population of people.

Read the sticky for people moving to Atlanta and answer those questions, primarily where you will be working, budget etc.

You ask about employement - reality is that Atlanta is worse than the national average right now. The general recommendation is don't move here if you don't have a job.

Thank you. Why do you find my poll ridiculous? I'm moving soon and i'm doing a lot of research so i'm trying to get as much information as i can cause i narrowed it down to Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA.

What a ridiculous poll. Instead of wanting our opinions, why don't you go out and find some empirical data regarding home prices, crime, traffic, etc?

I like living in the Atlanta metro. There are some bad areas, but in general I've found it to be a nice place to live.
