Doesn't surprise me a bit. Those are nice folks up there.

Near Atlanta, the so-called "City of Celebration" loves to throw events throughout the year. Among the most popular: the Alpharetta Arts StreetFest, food fest called Taste of Alpharetta, an annual parade for war veterans, a "Scarecrow Harvest" in which residents craft and display scarecrows for Fall, and a holiday tree-lighting ceremony. According to Nextdoor, holiday parties, yoga groups, and movie nights are commonly organized in neighborhoods around town.

Why do you say that? Alpharetta is a terrific place to raise a family.

Probably true, but you can also say that about a thousand other towns across the US. Congrats to them, I guess, but it's just a way for a web site to make money...

So....someone living in Roswell 1/4 mile away from Alpharetta isn't as friendly because they aren't in the city limits of Alpharetta? These articles are just "filler" and don't really mean anything. I'm all for cities and towns having lots of activities and amenities and people being friendly and neighborly, but I think it's impossible to quantify how friendly a city is.

Awe! How many scrooges can be in a forum? It's nice, folks! And, it is a friendly place. Just because it's a tad silly, doesn't mean we oughta bash it!

I don't live in Alpharetta. I'm obviously not friendly enough.

^^^ THIS!!! How do you determine what cities are "friendly" and what cities are not, much less RANK them on friendliness? Answer: You cannot!

Ansley, no one is saying Alpharetta isn't nice. Or friendly. But in age where people just are bombarded with lots of info, some of it meaningless and/or erroneous, I think it's good to analyze it and not accept it at face value. To ask what this really means. And if it's silly and really not valid or reliable statistically, not to accept it.

That said, congrats Alpharetta on your "honor." And for everyone who doesn't live in Alpharetta, let's work on making our towns and cities friendly, happy, healthy places!
