I'm sure that's the main draw. Who would take a road trip in a bus just to hear a bunch of crap music and glammed up church sermons?

The crowds for this Passion event downtown are insane. Living here, I see all the big conference crowds and this one seems rivaled only by the hair show and the cheerleading conference when it comes to putting visitors on the streets and in the restaurants downtown for several days in a row. The 60k attendance figure comes from today's AJC.

MARTA seems totally unprepared for these crowds, which is ridiculous. It's the same thing every year. They couldn't ramp up train service a little to accommodate this? They had to have seen it coming. You can barely find a place to stand on the platform at peak times.

Where are all these people going on MARTA? Are they staying in swank Buckhead and Midtown hotels?

Ha! I wonder. They might be. But I assume there are events associated with this conference all over the city, not just the Dome. That's the way it is with some of the big ones.

Understanding their traffic patterns is futile. Even the platform at College Park was full of them this morning.
