I am a single mom who spent the last 14 years raising my child alone. I have had a couple of serious relationships ( came close to marrying once), but once my child entered the teenage years, focused on ensuring that his needs were met and not wanting to deal with the risk of him having to adjust to a new authority figure in his life and it not working out, kept my dating surface level. Now he is graduating from high school this year and I have been feeling very paranoid lately about never being married/waiting too late. Am I alone on this? Is there anyone else who is experiencing a little anxiety about being an empty nester but under 40?
