Does anyone happen to know what big box store is trying to develop across from Maynard Jackson HS (formerly Southside)? Just received this from GPNA:

The GPNA (Grant Park Neighborhood Association) and SAND (South Atlantantans for Neighborhood Development) have teamed together to promote Smart Growth and Good Development along The Beltline. The tract of land across from Jackson (Southside) High School is coming before the Zoning Review Board for the City of Atlanta to be rezoned to support mixed use of retail and multifamily above it. The Developer that has it under contract just wants to put a 144,000 square foot big box retailer with over 1000 parking spaces in front of it in that location. We do not feel this suburban style development fits in our neighborhood nor with the Spirit and Vision of The Beltline that we have all worked so hard over the last 7 years to help plan. This rezoning is part of a multi-pronged approach to help protect our neighborhoods and we need your help!

Here is your opportunity to find out and speak out against the development.

No worries. You reminded me about the zoning meeting tonight that I have been meaning to post in that thread.

Can't get to the details behind the paywall, but yesterday the City Council unanimously approved the use of eminent domain to acquire 10 parcels related to the Enota Park project.

Here are the parcels in question, from the City Council agenda - they appear to be "unimproved"--meaning no buildings parcels.

The Westview community website shows a map-- not sure what the numbers /colors mean. As someone who drives through here often, the park will be a welcome change from the current land use of "tire dump."Enota Park Council Meeting | Westview Atlanta

You can see the lot lines on Google Maps of the parcels.
