Sounds like the state Senate wants to give MARTA's new GM a chance to implement the KPMG report.

But I'm glad the legislature made it clear that MARTA needs to get cracking on it now. These issues have been festering for a long time. Transit funding is way too scarce to keep wasting it like we've done in years past.

It is good to see them giving Keith Parker some time to implement the changes. If MARTA doesn't implement the changes in a timely manner, then I can see the state stepping in.

“We recognize that MARTA has a new commander-in-chief,” said Senate Rules Committee Chairman Jeff Mullis, R-Chickamauga, referring to the hiring of Keith Parker in December as MARTA general manager. “We need to give him a year.”
Good for them.

So is that a slap in the face to the Republicans who voted to privatize MARTA?
