Budget of 100,000 cash, would need to be as close to Perimeter area, that side of Smyrna. We would also consider Sandy Springs, Dunwoody area, if we could find anything. We have 2 dogs 28lbs & 70lbs, so they would have to be accepted. Do they usually allow pets in townhomes?

All Home Owner's Associations differ in their restrictions or non-restrictions of pets. I would read the HOA's convenants during the due diligence period to make sure that they are allowed.

Like George said it depends on the community. I own a condo and it restricts the number of pets and the breeds. One thing to keep in mind is that many condo/townhome communities have designated pet walking areas. For example, in my complex I'm not allowed to walk my dogs on the grass - only in the parking lot and the small steep-sloped area with pine straw that's supposed to be where dogs can relieve themselves. It can be a pain in the you-know-what, especially if you have a older pet and you have to walk them to the other side of the community to do their business. Maybe consider finding a townhome that has a little private back yard area that would be more convenient for those quick potty trips. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your search!

Town homes in that area are probably a bit out of that range. You'll probably have to go with a condo. There are plenty of two homes in that price range, but you'll have to go further outside of the city.

Yep, I agree with Starfish27. I have a dog and have lived in a townhome community that has common areas for dogs to relieve themselves. Even though my dog is in good health, it can be such a pain to get her out of the house for a potty break, especially when it's raining or cold, because we don't have a private backyard. Just something to consider while you're out house hunting. Good luck!

I live in a Townhome in Smyrna and there are no restrictions on dogs (no HOA). My neighborhood is out of that price range but I believe that you can find the deal in Smyrna just note they will be older and not updated.

http://m.condo.com/ListingDetails.as...10&id=63282059 This one is on the corner of Roswell Road and Abernathy in Sandy Springs. Not bad at all. At 59k you will have enough left over to buy an extra one if you can talk them down a few thousand.
