How well does Atlanta fair for those following plant-based diets? How abundant are restaurants, grocery stores, etc. that specialize in catering to these diets or at least offer options for such people? In your opinion, does it compare well with other major metropolitan areas in this regard? I was in Atlanta last fall and fell in love with your city for so many reasons. I will definitely be considering Metro Atlanta when looking for job opportunities after I finish school, but I've become a vegetarian since my trip and I definitely foresee that as being important to me when I look at relocating. Honestly, most restaurants have at least one option on their menu that is vegetarian, but I'm interested to hear whether or not it's a "thing" down there like it is in some cities. The college town I'm in now isn't too bad for vegetarians and moving to a big city would certainly expand these options no matter what, but just how much is what I'd like to know. Thanks!

I organize a couple of veggie Meetups (I'm a long-time vegetarian, new vegan)---we'd love to have you join. There are about a dozen veggie groups in the city. We manage to find restaurants to accommodate us. This IS the south---we are definitely in the minority here. But lots of Asians, Ethiopians, etc. who can treat us well.
