In lieu of Federal Judiciary interrupting the Governor plans to decide on the fate of DeKalb County School board. I tend to think that the responsibility of replacing School officials should be in the hands of the voters in DeKalb. Should there be emergency voting instead of Executive State intervention. Something clearly need to be done. This is very embarrassing for the Atlanta region as a whole, with us being in the National news for educational reasons again. Not good.

There is no vehicle for emergency voting, except for a recall. in 2010, the DeKalb delegation (the legislators who represent parts of DeKalb) had an opportunity to allow DeKalb voters to vote on the size of the DeKalb board This would have triggered a new election after the referendum.

Because DeKalb politics and politicians are so messed up, the delegation never took the appropriate action. Thus, here we are today.

A recall would be ideal, but takes organization and infrastructure that some parts of the county may not have. The money will be there, as donations would flow across the county, but getting the grass roots effort off the ground is going to be challenging.

This is a huge mess and it is beyond disappointing that our idiot board members have chosen to spend more money on lawyers. For the last couple of years, DCSS has spent more on lawyers than textbooks.

What's the problem with the people in Dekalb county? Why not just get rid of all of them? What's going on with the Board?

Honestly I think there is a whole LOT more to this story than what we citizens are being told. There are waaay too many secret agendas floating around here in Metro Atlanta for me to easily say that the state should just step in and do what it wants.

People are rightfully upset; as they should be at their children getting a substandard education in DeKalb. I would be too. But are they being given all the facts? I honestly don't think they are.

Unfortunately, our local media doesn't seem to be in much of an investigative news-reporting fact-finding mood.

Not that it matters, anyways.

Whatever hidden forces are at work in forcing this issue, they will be hades-bent on spinning those facts in such a way to obfuscate their true motives and push their agenda forward. It happened with the charter school conversation, so there is no reason why this Dekalb County School Board issue will be any different.

Quite unfortunate that as usual, our local media will not call the balls and strikes on this one. And now it falls upon the Feds once again to play referee in these local politics.

So let the chips fall where they may.

The voters are the ones who handed these jokers their jobs in the first place, so I fail to see how they'd correct the situation if it were put up for a vote.

An election costs money. I say cut the Gordian Knot and let the Governor handle it and wait for the next scheduled election.
