I wonder how cost effective and efficient this would be?

"The Dunwoody City Council last week heard a proposal from the city manager, Warren Hutmacher, for a four-city fire department that would include Chamblee, Brookhaven and Doraville and allow for expansion of fire services..."

Ever since incorporating as a city, I must admit Dunwoody is getting stuff done quite efficiently. (you want sidewalks? Boom. You got sidewalks. Etc, etc)

If they can ever rip the schools away from Dekalb county and form a Dunwoody City School system (and given the way things are going, I think they will eventually) Dunwoody will be the nicest place to live in the metro area, given the location.

This relates to the other thread about annexation, but it's a good example of how smaller local governments can act quickly and efficiently. In the COA things like this tend to get bogged down for years.

Proposing something is hardly getting it done. But I am not saying that Dunwoody has not been good at accomplishing things. They have. However there are city structures that grant more control to a local area that Dunwoody has now within Dekalb County.
