I think it looks good. I'm more of a lights than ornament type. What do you dislike about it?

I am okay with it, too.

Nothing will ever match the magic of old tree lighting on the Rich's bridge downtown, but our city has moved on.

Eventually it'll be back. People are moving back into the city.

Well, unfortunately the feds took over the building now and turned it into one of their sealed fortresses. I don't think they plan on giving it back.

Those sealed fortresses don't help improve the area and create dead spaces.

The tree is pretty, but I wish it were on top of the building where you can see it instead of the parking lot.

This!

Personally... I would like to see a second competing christmas tree start up in Atlanta.

I think the best place for it is the southwest corner on top of the American Cancer Society building overlooking Centennial Park.

I just think a nice public park or plaza is a better gathering place for the city to see such a great tradition and performance.

when it comes to the macy's tree, i think it sucks. :yuck:

the tree doesn't even look real, it looks unnaturally conical and looks like something you'd see in any old retail outlet. i can't believe this is supposed to be the most important tree in the city, it's pathetic.

we went from this:

to this:

i mean, really, that's **** poor. you can't even see the tree from the street, you have to drive down in the parking lot to see it. they're just trying to save money and pass it off as a "safety" issue. they certainly could have added restraints to the tree to make it more stable.

i remember it was a big deal when the tree was "chosen" and they would find someone's farm up in north georgia, they'd have a big ceremony and carry the tree down. i mean, what is this?
