Who knows for sure how long the water will last? But, if you're about to lose your house (because of unemployment) and you have an employment opportunity- regardless of where it is- TAKE IT! And since it is in Cartersville, live in/around Cartersville. The only traffic you'll have to put-up with is a cakewalk compared to metro ATL. And as far as the other factors, make a determination after you've settled in.

take the job and keep your house as long as you can sell it at your leisure and buy something that is IN your price range and not on an ARM

(((THANKS!))) yes we need to get moving here, we got a really nice offer down there but our home is quite far away here, we have to go, not sure we can keep the payments up here and live in a good area with decent schools however, we may very well foreclose, but we hope to save some downpayment up this time to avoid the hefty pmi again, we were paying 200 a month with a PMI! I am not sure what a ARM is but we always do traditional mortages whenever we owned a home.

do not foreclose

go to the bank and give the house to them

don't let them take it from you

there is a difference

could you please explain how I give them the house? I thought forecloure means you already do that, just bought it, the company left us here in the dust, there are no jobs, we can not possibly sell it here, maybe but no buyers are coming here or if they do, they look to homes that are like 40 grand or so, not ours...we can not keep it, even if both worked four jobs, there are only low paying jobs with nohealth care here, we got a good offer to go to altanta for good money, we have another shot for a good life, hopefully a safe one for our family here...anyhow...how do you do that? thanks for caring enough to post to me here.

go to the bank and explain your situation or contact a lawyer and ask them

giving your house to the bank is better than them taking it
yes it will affect your credit but not as badly as a foreclosure

go to the forum called real estate professionals and post how do i turn in my home to avoid foreclosure a more experienced agent than myself can help you.
It would also be helpful if they knew which state you lived in so they knew the real estate laws there
if you really need me to look deeper into this PM me

I'd say live in Marietta and work in Cartersville. Schools are about the same (Usually better in Marietta...depends on your neighborhood) But the crime rate in Cartersville is much higher and growing. Cartersville is cheaper...and for good reason.

Used to work in Cartersville and commuted from the Marietta area. Depending on your shift, you'll either be dodging traffic on 1st/3rd shift or in the thick of it..2nd shift. The drive is not that bad but after four years it gets to you and the final stroke was when i dozed off and bounced off a tractor trailers wheel while headed home on 75.

My vote? Setup in Cartersville. No traffic and whatever you need is easily accessible. How accessible? I drove my wife to the DDS offices there and it took us 15 minutes to get an I.D.
