I have no idea--but I wish I did.

Does anyone else know? Anyone? Please?

Not enough detail to make a good guess. For a moment I thought the brick building in the background might be the old Davison's then Macy's on Peachtree and the buildingis directly behind might be what came down for the Peachtree Plaza, but neither street is big enough for that. I was only a kid in this era, but totally reminds me of going to Atlanta to visit the two older brothers who were students at GSU and Tech respectively.

If I had to guess, would say this is in the vicinity of the old Rich's, somewhere south/southwest of 5 points.

MARTA - East Line Inauguration - June 30, 1979

Thought this was pretty cool! Now if we can get some more expansion going like this MARTA will be great!

More 1970s Atlantans waiting for a bus
You know, in the old days, everybody rode the bus, from society matrons to factory workers. Stops were always crowded and you often had to wait for a seat. Too bad buses lost the acceptance of earlier times.

Yes that is awesome thanks for sharing that...I have a bunch of MARTA monthly cards that I saved from back in the day.

What are those extensions are the MARTA rail map? Were those plans to extend? If so where would they have been.... just curious as to why there weren't built and where they would be?
