I will be moving to the Covington/Conyers area in early 2008. As I'll be retired, I'm thinking of taking a course or two at UGA in Athens. What is the approximate driving time from Covington/Conyers to Athens?

I'm hoping to take a late morning/early afternoon class.

Thanks.

You're looking at a 1 hour, 15 minute commute at the very least one way. I'm not sure how 138 is from Conyers to Athens (meeting up with 78), but there is also I-20 east to 129 N. It would be a long commute either way though.

Why don't you consider Winder or Monroe instead?

It is a long ways. Have you considered a metro college like Ga Tech or GSU?

Lawrenceville (Collins Hill and 316) also has a satellite campus, so you're commute would be less.

Thanks everybody.
I should say that I am retiring from teaching music at the college level. I already have DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) and I'm just looking to take some advanced level courses that I did not take during my degree work.

I'm also looking for a composer who I might be interested in studying with. I looked at Georgia Tech but they seem to be more of a techincal university (surprise, surprise) rather than Arts centered.
