Hi everyone. My husband and I are considering a move to Atlanta for a better job market and similar proximity to my parents that live in East TN. We live in Franklin, TN right now and absolutely love it. I know there are a lot of TN transplants in Atlanta and was wondering if anyone could advise us of an equivalent suburb in Atlanta to Franklin, TN. What we love best about the city is that it feels like a small town, but it still has great shopping and restaurants nearby. The downtown is so quaint and wonderful and it is a very family-oriented town. The school system is also great but I know there are many suburbs in Atlanta that have great schools. It is a very affluent county, but Franklin doesn't seem to have that keeping up with the joneses mentality of some other areas of the county. I am just curious if anyone would be able to help. Thanks!

An easy recommendation is Peachtree City. It is kinda far out though, but it has a small city feel with a boatload of amenities for a city.

There is no real equivalent. These two places are not really comparable. The closest match would probably be Peachtree City (as mentioned above) or the Alpharetta/Milton area.

Thanks! I know we will probably rent before we buy but I was just wanting to look at home prices in our desired areas. We really love Franklin and would hate to leave but a good job would be very tempting and we have always loved visiting Atlanta.

Was initially thinking the same thing, but I think Canton is more like Franklin. Brentwood is more similar to Alpharetta IMO.

Franklin sounds like at least a dozen places in the northern Atlanta suburbs ... 20 years ago. Now, you just want to get as far away from clusters of apartment complexes as possible.

Don't know so much about Franklin, but my friends from Brentwood live in Johns Creek.
