As diverse as Atlanta is, it still lacks a truly good Indian restaurant. To give you a sense of things, Creative Loafing or Sunday Paper (can't remember which) had a readers poll rating local restaurants and attractions. One of the categories was Best Indian Food. Shamefully, the winner was Marrakesh...a Moroccan restaurant.

Decatur has a couple of places that are on the cheap side, but pretty good. Personally, I like Zyka (between Ponce and Church, inside a Montessori school). Some people rave about Bojanic, more of a fusion indian restaurant, but it has some tasty dishes. Good luck, and let us know if you find a place to recommend.

Well gosh darnnit, my complaint about the lack of good indian food in Atlanta still stands!!! Even though it never occurred to me the OP was referring to Carribean food, as opposed to cuisine from the western part of the world's second most populous country.

As for west indian/carribean restaurants, I don't think I've been to one in the two years I've been living in Atlanta. Good luck in your pursuit.

LOL. That's all right...I've found some good Indian's restaurants in Gwinnett County...

Elmira, it is a hit and miss wit the West Indian food restaurants. Alot of have opened in the last couple of years in the metro area. I know of a few in Gwinnett. We have a couple out here in Rockdale and we have another opening soon here too.

Try Cool Runnings on Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain or the Royal Peacock on Auburn Avenue.
