We have out of town guests expected, and I can't seem to get a grasp on the various ticket options for Stone Mountain. Is anything included in the $10.00/car parking fee except walking around? If not, what else is crucial to see? We are 4 50 somethings, so I think the museum, and the antebellum house will appeal, I'm just not sure what else to expect.

Well, the hiking, the lasershow, the grist mill and covered bridge would be no additional cost. I think that's about it really. I believe Confederate Hall at the foot of the walk-up trail is still free, but it's not as extensive as the museum overlooking the great lawn, but still well worth a visit.

The laser show is only running right now because it's spring break, so kiddies are out of school. Through the weekend it's running nightly, but after that it is spotty until school ends.

I "think" the boat ride and train ride are extra $ though, correct? I'm trying to find out what is included in the entrance fee, as well as what activities we might do that will cost extra, such as the museum and the homestead. The web site isn't very clear.

Thanks all for the answers so far.

I'm pretty sure those have admission.

The main thing that is free is stone mountain as a large public park: hiking trails, playground, hike up the mountain, etc... The laser show, when it runs, is free and is a definite must-see. (bring folding chairs or a blanket for the ground)

The boat is $14/person, the cable car to the top is $9, the plantation is $9, memorial hall museum is $9, putt putt is $9, and then they have more activities for kids in the little mini-theme park town they made next to the railroad station.

You can also spend $28/person and get an Adventure pass, which lets you do all the above except the boat.

My 2 cents... if you're looking to keep costs down... There are lots of nice places to walk/hike. Lots of places to picnic. The laser show is the main must-see at the park, besides getting to the top (one way or another).

Walk out to the carillon and listen to the music while you take a break by the water.

Hi, Mattie! My name is Jeanine Jones and I am the Public Relations Manager for Stone Mountain Park. I would love to try to help you plan your visit to Stone Mountain Park. If you are planning on doing more than 3 attractions, the best value is the Adventure Pass which gets you entrance into the park attractions such as the new Journey 2: The Mysterious Island – The 4-D Experience, Geyser Towers, Sky Hike, the Summit Skyride, the Great Locomotive Chase Adventure Golf, The Great Barn, Scenic Railroad, the Antebellum Plantation & Farmyard and Memorial Hall Museum.
If you have any more questions, please email me at jjones@stonemountainpark.com. I would be glad to help!
Thank you!
Jeanine
