For those thinking of moving to the Paulding County area (Hiram, Dallas, or general County area), you may wish to read this.

Paulding is the first County in the area to do a complete water restriction. This also includes businesses (landscapers, etc). Details vary from report to report, but one person I know who lives in the County and knows someone who works for them said that what they also plan on doing is making residents reduce the amount of water they use by 10%. The households will be "averaged" as to what their total water use was the year before. Then, you are expected to use at least 10% less than that. If you exceed it, the fine will be 3 times what the averaged monthly water bill is. After a certain number of violations/fines, your water is shut off.

At least that's what I'm getting from folks so far who live over there for details. The averages won't be based on your personal bill, but the water use for that address for the previous 12 months. If you buy a previously owned house there then, unless they adapt it, that means if the previous owners were a large family, and you're not, you're in luck. If however you HAVE a large family and let's say an older couple who used little water lived in that house before, welllllll, let's just say you're kinda screwed.

Here's some links that go into some details at least on it all:
