I've been planning on going with some friends. However, the rain makes me nervous. I hope it stays away. I'm a delicate flower and I will wilt!

If the rain is intermittent, you could always walk to L5P and go into a restaurant or bar and wait out the rain. L5P is only a couple blocks from the border of the festival.

Having said that, I'm not going to go this year because it's supposed to rain.

This has been my favorite festival in Atlanta for a few years.

However, I'm skipping this year. Mainly because the girlfriend is going with her girlfriends and if I joined them I would be tortured into looking at jewelry and art made from old kitchen utensils all day.

But the other reason is because even though I like the fact that you can still get reasonably priced art at Inman Park unlike Dogwood, I feel like the festival has just gotten a little too popular. Last year I remember thinking the crowd is right at the cusp of being large enough to be annoying. If it is still growing, I suspect that this year it will have crossed that threshhold and the crowds will have crossed over from being vibrant to being a little too packed in a claustrophobic for me.

The main issue with this is the streets of Inman Park are narrow, so space along them is restricted by how far back the tents can be. Everybody's tolerance is different, but it's just getting a tad too packed for me. I really would love to do the tour of homes some day, though.

Imagine living on those streets. I would get me a case and people watch all day.

Please try to keep all Festival 2013 talk in the thread for that topic so we're not starting up new ones for each one that pops up (and there are a lot of them this time of year).
