My husband may be getting a management job with a car dealer near atlanta. We're not considering a move because of all the 'atlanta hype'. (I didn't know it existed until I visited this site, but apparently you're being overrun with newcomers.) We're just leaving michigan and going wherever he can find a job.

Anyway, what is the auto climate there? Are people buying, selling, getting their cars repaired? Can you make a living at a dealer or are they starving like here in detroit? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, -Tracy

Stick with Lexus, BMW, Honda, and Toyota dealerships. Atlantans for some reason like to ***** import brands and the product lines of those brands will sell themselves.

Yes, imported cars are very popular here. I see a lot of BMWs, Lexuses, Acuras and Infinitis. Of course, see a lot of Hondas and Toyotas. Very few Chevys or Fords.

With the new plant you are going to see Kia getting a larger market share.

Thanks for the info! Here in Detroit, we have to drive a GM, Ford, Chrysler or DIE! lol The very first new car I bought was an import and it got keyed before I made the first payment. I was 18 and didn't understand the Detroit automotive mentality. Now we have a chevy, oldsmobile, and DS drives a toyota cuz he got it for 800 bucks....
