And Tesla's range is actually not bad. I hear that the range for the smaller new BMW electric - the i3 - is only around 100 (without the extender). IMO, that range in Atlanta just won't cut it. At least not until we start seeing superchargers around the city (because who wants to wait hours for a charge?). On the flip side, I hear BMW will loan its electric car buyers a gas-powered car for 20 days each year (for any out-of-town trips). Tesla says they can't make the same offer because they obviously don't have gas cars to loan out!

The Model S sedan does a 4.2 sec 0-60. Faster than many Porches, Ferraris, and other super cars.
