I was wondering if there were any places that gave break dancing lessons? I live in Alpharetta, but if there were weekend classes, I would consider a little hike. My 4 year old son loves to dance and he loves to pretend break dance. Thanks for your help!

Dance 411 on Moreland Ave (right off I20 near downtown) has beginner hip hop classes for kids on Tuesday. Classes are only $15. I've taken the adult version there later in the evening (children is 5pm and adults is 7pm) and it's a whoot. Full class schedule: http://www.dance411studios.com/kids_schedule.php You can take pole dancing classes too, if you're feeling bold =)

Thanks Belleislerunner!! The price sounds right, but I would never be able to make there on time. I do not get off until 4:30 and still have to pick up my son. I did check out the schedule, no weekend classes for the lil ones. I did see breakdancing on the weekend, but it said all levels, and I think he would be too little for that!!
I am not giving up, the hunt is still on!

Man, I would love to learn how to break dance. My grandkids would go nuts.

I think some members of Burn Unitt used to give a class at Ga Tech... but this was back in the 90's and I have no idea of the crew is still around.

I would not even attempt it unless you're already in good shape. Breaking will work your joints, bones, and muscles very hard... and most people learn on a hard floor which increases the wear on your body.

It is one of the few things I have done which immediately made me feel the toll on my body.

Totem used to give classes at Tech as late as 2003 (when I went). If you're not in good shape and are above a little humility, you WILL hurt yourself.

My joints are a wreck but I would be happy just to learn a few moves.
