Yep

We got all these visitors now. I wonder how many we will begin to get in 2015 once all these new projects are all open. Probably at least 45 million annually

They dont even post the attendance data from the Nascar museum anymore since the numbers are so low

Do they ask the residents of a building any time a new skyscraper is going to be built that will obscure their view? If that was the norm, there would be no large cities anywhere.

This topic is so dumb lol. I blame that city council member for this stupidity

Actually they do. Usually cities specify a height which can be built without needing a variance. If they need a variance then it goes to a public hearing. But if I had to guess, this Ferris wheel is under that height, if there is one, for downtown.

Here is a recent example: Sandy Springs: Split City Council sides with developer - Reporter Newspapers

EDIT: Actually I guess it did have to go to a public hearing: http://www.11alive.com/news/article/...y-Ferris-wheel

OK, then give me an example of a proposed building that was not built because people said it would obscure their view.

I doubt it. Charlotte is much more of a NASCAR town than Atlanta; the HOF would have more than likely done much better out near Lowe's Motor Speedway as most NASCAR fans have little reason to go to Uptown for anything NASCAR-related, except Speedstreet.

What else is there to see or do in Charlotte? At least Atlanta has the aquarium, Coke, College Football HOF, Civil Rights Museum, Centennial Olympic Park all within 1/2 mile of each other. Atlanta has concentrated its attractions and soon a streetcar will connect them all to the MLK District, which gets over 1 million visitors.

Talking Las Vegas is the most popular destination in THE WORLD

Either you've never been to Las Vegas or you hated what it stood for when you did.

LV copies so many cultutres in different hotels because that IS their culture - a uniqueness all its own.

You don't have to be a gambler to go there, and you don't have to have a lot of money, because flights are cheap and the hotels are cheaper, and the food is worldy - you can get a great Prime Rib for $1.99 or a five-course meal at a famous chef's restaurant for over $500. The sky is the limit in Vegas.

Just saying. ATL could only pray to be so lucky as to be compared to LV.

That's hard to read without laughing. Vegas sucks even worse than Macon.
