I find it funny that people in other english speaking countries refer to all Americans (even southerners) as Yankees.

Edit: I got 55%.

I don't call all soft drinks "Coke". However, I do have a tenancy to call all dark colored ones Coke, even if they are Pepsis or Dr. Peppers.

I agree about the Coke one. I tend to think "Coke" is not just a Southern thing. I've actually been in parts of California where I asked for Coke and they said, "What type?" I asked a relative who grew up in Cali about it and they said that all drinks are called Coke in California (though I didn't have any problem with them understanding "soda" either, the 6 times I was there). Interestingly, if you say Coca Cola, you get coca cola. BUT, Northeast it's definately soda, and midwest it's a mix of soda, pop and soda pop depending on where you go.

those of you who are ashamed to have anything higher than a zero aren't understanding the score correctly. 0 means you sound like you came from the backwoods of maine. 50% means a neutral accent. so those of you who are trying to show off that you don't have an accent... yeah, you do. it's just not southern.

by the way the use of the term 'dixie' has a lot of pejorative connotations, it would be better if they didn't use that term.
