THE TWO F's.....

Is Fayette County seen as more progressive than Forsyth County? Just curious what people think: They're pretty much No. 1 and 2 in everything ... but hardly anybody would look down their nose at you if you said you lived in Fayette County. It has respect, at least for being on the Southside.

Funny, I get the same reaction as the OP when I'm in Buckhead shops and tell people I live in Roswell.

In Atlanta, everyone is snobby about where they live. It is the way we roll here.

Really, both Fayette County and Forsyth county are considered low class areas IMHO. Can't think what they are number 1 at in any form. I think the cheap prices in both counties makes in evident they are not seen as upmarket. As for being progressive neither of them are at all progressive.

Ive seen worse than this. In DC they used to even narrow it down to what quadrant of a suburb they lived in.

As bedroom communities and relatively affluent outer suburbs of Atlanta, both Fayette and Forsyth counties are not what one could call "progressive" from a purely political standpoint as they are both counties that are dominated by fairly conservative Republicans.

Though both counties are regarded as being nice quiet, low-crime places to live with very-good to excellent county school districts and lots of open-space and greenery.

Although, when it comes to location Forsyth County probably has an overwhelming advantage over Fayette County because of Forsyth's location on the popular Northside of Metro Atlanta on Lake Lanier amongst rolling foothills very close to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

It's pretty bad in Boston/Eastern Mass as well. Atlanta is nothing like it.

But Fayette has the ultimate trump card...

Peachtree City, baby!

Well, that's what I was asking basically: Does Forsyth have anything that compares to PTC? Or the overall quality development standards of Fayette County? Doesn't appear so. Much of unincorporated Forsyth (partcularly the north end of the county) is quite junkie IMO.

Another HUGE difference: Forsyth has about twice the poverty rate of Fayette County, though they are the No. 1 and 2 most affluent counties in the state, respectively.

(Nice try JPATALANTA ... but your comment simply proved how totally clueless you are about either place or the metro at large).
