I wish they would have reserved that name for a city somewhere near Atlanta

Really the people in the 3000 sq ft houses in S Forsyth cookie cutter sub divisons could afford the same house in Buckhead but choose not too

It's nice enough but I still fail to see what is so special about it.

Gosh, people, I live in Buckhead and am very happy here--but I must say I could probably be happy in Peachtree City, too--a bit slower paced, less crime, less claustrophobic fanciness, lower taxes, decent public schools--it's got some good things going for it. I hope we Atlantans are open-minded enough to see the pros and cons of other communities. Whew.

Thank you. From my personal experience, this is the view of most Atlantans I know. But from the sampling of ITPers that comes on this site, your balanced view is rare.

Default Cumming vs. Buckhead

I really don't see why Buckhead is so special. It certainly has more very expensive homes than Cumming, but its commercial area is just as junky looking as Cumming, just bigger. When I go there, I notice all the crummy facades on many of its businesses.

Having lived both ITP and OTP for a roughly equal amount of time, i don't see any reason why a subjective, or even objective opinion of living in a suburb vs the city necessarily needs to be balanced. Some areas are demonstrably nicer/better/whatever than others. There is a lot ITP that cannot be found OTP. The reverse, less so.

The irony here is that ITP is essentially suburban also, just older.
