They didn't have China Eastern as partners last time. I am a bit surprise its not sending the A350 on this route.

I saw a billboard announcing this yesterday. I'm not in this world much, but it was surprising to see an announcement like this for something that was something like a year away

Great point tikigod, I bet they are trying to impress the Department of Transportation and persuade them to grant Delta future China operating slots. There is an American Airlines Los Angeles to Beijing slot that is about to be reallocated and surely Delta thinks it should get it. This Atlanta announcements will make Delta's case stronger.

Airfrance supposedly starting twice-weekly Atlanta to Port-au-Prince service in December. Delta already flies the route each day. It's unclear whether this would replace two Delta frequencies or be in addition to them, but pretty interesting nonetheless.

These new Caribbean routes on Air France are getting very interesting....

I wonder if this is the beginning of a Delta challenge to American's Miami fortress hub? They handle a ton of connecting traffic to the Caribbean, it's not all O&D like South Floridians always claim. A huge portion of that has shifted to Ft. Lauderdale on jetBlue and Spirit.

Interesting times for ATL, and it's all good.

Not sure how Virgin ties in since Delta already owns 49% of the airline which is the foreign ownership max.
