Ahm, Ansley Park is certainly Midtown. Lord it's been there since 1900 (roughly). Long before there was a "midtown".

McDonalds is cheap and attracts low income people. I though you didn't like that because you don't like the shop downtown or Underground because they are " Low income and cheap".

I would have to argue this one. Poor & low income people aren't going to start flocking to midtown just because there is a McDonalds there. I think not having fast food in the heart of midtown is more about the demand (or lack of) and culture of the area.

Everyone eats at McDonalds. Its not a social-economic thing. Kids from all income classes love McNuggets.

I guess the one in Times Square brings a thug and low income element also. That area is go ghetto now because there's a Mcdonalds there.

Oh and I guess the Mcdonalds in Alpharetta must also bring thugs also.

But, McDonald's does have the best french fries! If only there were a hybrid McDonald's - Burger King where I could get a Whopper Cheese and McD's fries!

you're relatively new to atlanta, right? there used to be an 'urban' mcdonalds on peachtree around peachtree center station. it was two stories and of course was a storefront, not a freestanding location. it was actually really cool looking from the inside, i have some memories there as a little kid.

re: the food, i don't eat it. it's disgusting. way too many chemicals and oddly mixed ingredients. i did an analysis of the fries between wendy's, burger king, and mcdonald's a couple of years ago, and found that wendy's fries had the fewest ingredients (four, albeit this was before they switched to the "natural cut" fries which ironically have about 5 more ingredients than the old ones did), burger king had a lot of ingredients, but it was mainly natural stuff that is OK but seems bizarre in french fries, like rice flour and tapioca. mcdonald's fries were by far the worst, there were 5 chemicals typically used in non-foodservice applications, there was beef tallow, and milk.

Did you read the thread at all? It specifically said Midtown, not Downtown...I know a Mcdonalds used to be near Hooters.
