Nobody was blaming the child.

Perfectly legal if the right lane is a right turn only lane & turning right from the left lane is allowed. So long as you stop fully if there is a red light, you are good to go.

I am a big pedestrian advocate but I will have to admit there are a lot of idiot pedestrians.

Jaywalkers and people who wander idly through parking lots (usually yakking on their cell phones) are a disaster waiting to happen.

Of course that is not what I was talking about.

Of course.

This whole thread is full of people complaining about bad driving habits in Atlanta (and I agree with most), but there are just as many people in these types of threads who don't understand basic driving rules & complain when a driver does something perfectly legal. So you will excuse me for reading your statement the wrong way.

Where did I say that I was blaming the child? Did you bump your head?

Peds have the right-of-way in parking lots. Cars should not be going fast in parking lots.

People with cars are better than those who do not drive. Welcome to Atlanta.

Drivers also toss common road etiquette out the window in a parking lot or garage because they see it as "Publix rules" that are not enforceable by the police. Every day in my work parking deck I feel like (that old arcade frog who's name is banned here for some reason) dodging cars even though I am walking in designated pedestrian crossing areas. Cars fly at over 20-30 MPH & blow right through stop signs.
