Maybe they should take the public toilets out and place self-cleaning pay toilets outside the subway stations like you find in Europe, Asia, New York and San Francisco.

I believe that MARTA have or used to have several self-cleaning toilets at Five Points.

I must say the ones they put at Piedmont park quickly turned into a disaster.

Well, if they're worried about sketchy things or transactions going on in the restrooms, they could always just go the European route... have "open air" restrooms with 4 foot walls surrounding the area for a certain amount of privacy while allowing security to have 360 degree views of the inside of them. Hey, it's an IDEA. The link though simply discusses enhancements and remodels of the Midtown stations - not about bathroom issues.

Great idea. They should consider visiting Europe to get some ideas.

I never even knew the stations had restrooms. Have they always been there? I've never seen them.

Yes. When MARTA closed them they took the signage down, so they're not obvious (except where they are open).

Very sad too. They were such a good place to meet random people.
