Johnson Ferry Road from Lower Roswell to Roswell is the downtown district and Johnson Ferry Baptist Church is the local cathedral.

From one who spent his time in Cobb off of Canton Road and later Bells Ferry Road. We didn't feel like East Cobbers at all.

I've/we've always considered those areas as East Cobb--the edges/the fringes.

Some of the older, brick-ranch house areas/neighborhoods may seem more like North Marietta. But areas like Canterbury, Kings Crossing, Country Plantation, Oak Creek, Blackwell+Ebenezer Roads, Shaw Road, etc. are definitely East Cobb.

Remember, Bells Ferry Road and I-575 are considered the western limits of East Cobb. So getting close to that line would give off the feeling being "less-East Cobb-ish."

The Bells Ferry neighborhood was Huntington Woods off of Turner Road which technically was on the wrong side of both 575 and 75. Our street ended where the southbound ramp of 575 merges into 75, so this neighborhood sits between Cobb Pkwy and 75. It is Cobb County but surrounded by Marietta city limits on three sides, zoned for Bells Ferry, JJ Daniell and Sprayberry. A hidden jewel, beautifully forested, large lots, 60s era custom ranches, and even tho it backed up to the interstate, the vegetation was thick and if you didn't live at the end of one of the streets that abruptly end at the interstate (the neighborhood actually preceded 75 and its construction cut off the streets according to some old timers), you didn't realize it was there.

The difference I was speaking of wasn't a technical boundary, but more the vibe. The Walton crowd would NEVER have considered our area East Cobb. You average Indian Hills resident would think they had reached the East Cobb fringes once they got to Piedmont Road and would definitely think they were in another world once they hit Canton Road.

I understand now. Where you lived is definitely NOT East Cobb. It is in the small western part of the Sprayberry/Daniell district that lies outside of East Cobb.

Once you're on Piedmont Road, though, starting at Bells Ferry Road and going east...the beginnings/fringes of East Cobb.

Also forgot to mention, that here in West Cobb we have nicknamed it "The Land of the East Cobb Snobs".
