Hi am new on this forum but my boyfriend is looking to buy 2- 3 bedroom condo or 2 or 3 home family dwellings in downtown or midtown part of Atlanta, so he can use as a rental property. Does anyone know where he should look and how is the housing market in Atlanta now. Is it better to buy a condo or a single family home? Any information will be helpful. Thanks in advance

You will probably receive more responses if you tell us what your budget is for a property.

Please note that many condominiums have rental restrictions so check that out before purchasing.

That and also I've found that a lot of the HOA fees are really high already (high carrying cost if unit is vacant even for a few months) and those fees don't decrease....they only have the potential to go up.

Also budget enough cash for repairs and renovations unless you are buying one that is already all done and ready to go (which means you would be paying top price)
