LOL!

(I've actually got the date scheduled as an "event" on my iPhone: "End of the World!")

Great idea. I'm putting it on my calender. I'm glad somebody understood it!
December 21, 2012 will be here before you know it.
Will there be a December 22, 2012?

OK, I'll bite. Besides the cuteness of the numbers, what is the significance of this date?

crystalblue recently posted an op-ed from the ajc discussing the problems of ATL. I couldnt agree more. I simply think the ARC is substantially overestimating Atlanta's growth potential in the next 20 years. I understand the Atlanta metro area has added nearly 1 million residents since 2000, but I believe that level of growth is a thing of the past. Personally, the good economy of the early 2000s, and disasters such as Katrina brought many people to Atlanta. I think the size of Atlanta, without the addition of public transportation, is simply at its max-out point. There comes a point where people will simply not put up with sitting in traffic for hours, and will move away. I also believe the housing market slowdown and the alarming foreclosure rate in ATL will have a very negative effect on the city for the next 7-10 years. just my opinion, what do you think? PS: I love Atlanta, and would love to see its success continue....but I'm worried about what I'm seeing.

Unemployment is very low compared to other areas, over the next year we are creating new jobs and every arriving company will do likewise, I think you will find some shifting in the types of employers over the next ten years but in all we would not be relocating our HQ to Atlanta if we thought it had a bleak future.

Not withstanding the armageddon crowd.
