Likewise for General Sherman in 1864.

Anybody who thinks the city they live in is flawless needs to have their heads examined. No city is without it's faults and just because people criticize it doesn't mean they think it's a backwater. What's funny is seeing people get all tore up about valid criticism.

Easier said than done.

Let someone come in here and say Atlanta is "add negative remark" it would be ok but let me say something negative about Charlotte or Savannah and watch all hell break loose. I guarantee if someone posted in the Nova forum that Arlington sucks im sure someone would defend their city

I really don't see the point in getting all up in arms about any city. Last time I checked, no mayor of ANY city had given ANYONE on City-Data the key to the city. Why are we all up in arms? The city is really profiting us nothing. That goes for every city. They do not belong to us personally and we still have to pay city taxes. That same city you love will toss a tax lien on your property so fast it will be incredible should you decide you are not paying your tax bill. Calm down people everywhere. This is all no big deal.

Did I just hear a "toot"?

Well, you're bound to be sensitive when your city's biggest claim to fame is a cemetery.

The thing is, Arlington doesn't boast and try to prove it's hot sh*t at every freakin' opportunity. It's pretty comfortable in it's own skin.

And way to disparage the resting place of some of our country's greatest heroes in order to make a smart aleck point.

No more than any other city, I'd say.

How does Atlanta do this? I'm curious as to your thoughts here.
