Yea. Android here. Just downloaded the official MARTA app and it only has the schedule. But I would love something that has real time updates!

I have a iphone and it shows real times, the delays, and E.A.T. The app is pretty neat stuff and a life saver too.

This uncertainty, and past times I've been burned with an exceptionally long wait after convincing friends to take MARTA somewhere on the weekends, leads me to generally avoid the system after hours and on weekends. And I'm a big MARTA proponent.

I've also missed a number of trains because they left BEFORE the scheduled time. Which should be a big no-no. They have thankfully gotten better at this, waiting at Five Points for connecting trains and so forth. A year ago they would have just blown through the connection and left everyone to wait 20 minutes. But they really ought to avoid being early under any circumstance.
I think it's about time they changed the policies that make weekend trains slower. Why make ridership harder on the days where it's more likely to be an elective choice and possibly have even more ridership than during the week (due to fewer people working = more possible trips to make)

Did the extended rail service frequency get approved? Thought MARTA would be shouting the good news from the roof tops if so?

I dunno. But the past two weekends I have used MARTA for my bike rides and it has markedly improved. Frequency is much greater. Probably due to no more single tracking, but such a welcome change. When I transferred from northbound to eastbound, it was like the transfer was actually synchronized!!!!!!!!! THAT WAS INCREDIBLE. I'm not sure if I just got lucky or what, but that should always be the norm. That never ever seems to be the case, yet it seems like it would be so easy to schedule. I hate waiting around that lil third world hell hole.

Also, they had the longest MARTA train I had ever seen Sunday on the E-W line. The front car stopped all the way at the end of the platform. Is that the norm for Falcons games?

Dear MARTA,

If you cut my wait time to transfer at Five Points I will ride more often.

Sincerely,
Choice Rider

Single tracking is back this weekend. MARTA - Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority

There will sometimes be 8-car trains on the Blue Line. I see it every morning on the 7:22am from Edgewood-Candler Park Station.

Thanks for the heads up. Ill probably still ride, I just can't help myself. Riding from Inman Park station to Arts Center via the Beltline is ADDICTIVE. Possibly the most fun outdoor activity you can do ITP.

Its a great addition to Atlanta. Having been on the HighLine in NYC, I can say the BeltLine is more useful as a transportation corridor and already longer.
