From 400/McFarland Rd to Satellite can take an hour or more.

Completely forgot to mention earlier the afternoon slow-n-go on McGinnis between McFarland and Jones Bridge, which can be far more maddening as it is only two-lane road along that stretch.

Point being, its one of the main thoroughfares between the 400 corridor and the 85 corridor, and one of only about 4 Chattahoochee crossings in the area. Consequently, large amounts of patience will be needed.

Ugh! I was hoping 30 mins or so but over an hour is not what I was expecting. So maybe we should look into Alpharetta more.

You can mitigate some of that time by changing the time of day you do that commute. Up to about 4.30, McFarland to Satellite can be done in a much more reasonable amount of time.

Ugh. I do not envy anyone makiing that commute. Even though there has been a lot of road construction up there in the past 10 years, it still hasn't quite kept pace with the population growth just north of McFarland.
