I have done some looking around online and there appears to be some properties east in Rockdale Co. A lot have a Conyers address. I wonder if moving out this way would be reasonable to consider. We did get a call from the VA last week and I was selected for the position. Progress with the VA system is slow so unlikely to start before spring. We really need totals a trip down and look around for ourselves but just haven't had an opportunity. Hopefully will be able to do that after the holidays. Any thoughts or info on living east of Atlanta and commuting appreciated

Conyers has changed a lot in the past 10-20 years. My understanding (not first-hand knowledge) is that the crime rate there is up significantly. It used to be considered "country," but I don't think that's true anymore. Don't buy sight unseen; you need to go check out the area, particularly at nighttime.

We will definitely check things out before we make a move. We live in the country here in western ky and have pretty low crime rate. Our home is protected by two things, the King James Bible and Remington Arms. We also have a barking alarm system. Even though they are just love able pets and would never bite anyone, they are real good at announcing uninvited guests. They are part of the reason we want to be as rural as possible and still be close enough to commute to work. May try to come down and look around after Christmas. Just trying to get an idea on the best area to start looking.
