But the seats are moveable anyways.

There is little need for a nfl stadium to have more than 70K seats. There are some stadiums, but those are more successful franchises with historic large fan base.
Major events will have the flexibility of adding more seats.

Jerry World seats 80,000 for Cowboys games, but when it's used for college football opening or bowl games, it can expand up to 105,000. While the new stadium will only need ~70,000 or less for Falcons games, shouldn't we leave room to expand for things like the SEC Championship and the Chick-fil-a Bowl?

New stadium will accommodate up to 31,000 for MLS, 76,000 for the SECCG/Peach Bowl/Super Bowl, and 83,000 for the Final Four (the latter two using temporary seating).

Final Four places the court in the center of the stadium now so that more people can attend (They did this at the Dome back in April):

Off-topic, but I wish the FF/championship would go back to arenas; a more intimate setting. The NCAA is just whoring the event out for the most money. Who wants to watch basketball from row 132?

So the Falcons are tearing down a 20 year old 72K seat stadium to just a build the another 72K seat stadium and in 15-20 yrs say that one will be obsolete too, compared to what ever newer stadiums are being built in 2035.

All this to possibly get 1 Superbowl and 1 MLS. This better be as good as or better than the Cowboys stadium.
